How fresh is the data?
Indices refresh on the providers' own cadence — Crypto Fear & Greed updates daily, the macro indices intra-day. Market Mood pulls the latest reading on app launch, when you swipe-to-refresh, and on a sensible background-fetch schedule for widgets and complications. The last-updated timestamp is shown next to every reading.
Adding a complication
On Apple Watch: long-press the watch face → Edit → tap any complication slot → scroll to Market Mood and pick the family you want (Corner, Modular, Circular, etc.). The complication colour-codes automatically — green for greed, red for fear, neutral grey when the index hasn't moved much.
Setting alerts
Open the index detail screen → Alerts → tap "+". Pick a threshold (Extreme Fear / Fear / Neutral / Greed / Extreme Greed, or a numeric value) and direction (when crossing up vs. crossing down). Alerts are scheduled locally; you'll get a notification the next time the index crosses the threshold.
Widgets aren't refreshing
iOS rate-limits widget refreshes — they update on a system schedule rather than continuously. If a widget feels stale, tap-and-hold → Edit Widget to force a refresh, or open the app once to make iOS prioritise its background refreshes.
Watch and phone disagree on the value
The watch may be on an older cached reading. Open the iPhone app once with the watch nearby — the latest data hops over via WatchConnectivity. If you still see drift, force-quit the watch app and reopen.
I want a new index
Email me with the source — if it has a public, stable, non-rate-limited feed it's a candidate. Same for new complication families or new alert types.
