TensionRadar privacy policy.

Effective date: 22 September 2026 (updated for the Character Pack)

This policy describes TensionRadar for iPhone and Apple Watch.

TensionRadar is developed by Chen. It reads heart data from Apple Health on your device and keeps everything it derives on your device. TensionRadar does not operate a server, has no account system, and never uploads your health data anywhere.

Apple Health data TensionRadar reads

With your permission, TensionRadar reads heart rate variability (SDNN), heart rate, resting heart rate, respiratory rate and beat-to-beat heartbeat series from Apple Health. Apple Watch records this data; TensionRadar only reads it. It uses the readings to compute a personal HRV baseline, a stress score, trends, hourly patterns and insights, all on your device.

TensionRadar asks Apple Health to notify it when new heart-rate variability, heart-rate or resting-heart-rate samples arrive so the radar and its alerts stay current. You can revoke any of these permissions at any time in the Health app under Sharing → Apps → TensionRadar.

What TensionRadar writes to Apple Health

When you finish a coherence breathing session, TensionRadar can save it to Apple Health as a Mindful Minutes entry. It writes nothing else to Apple Health.

Breathing sessions measured by Apple Watch

When you choose Apple Watch as the measurement source for a coherence breathing session, the TensionRadar watch app runs a mind-and-body workout session so the watch samples heart rate frequently, and sends those readings to the paired iPhone over Apple’s Watch Connectivity link. The workout itself is discarded when the session ends; the heart-rate samples remain in Apple Health as they normally would.

Summaries of breathing sessions (duration, mean heart rate, HRV metrics, coherence scores) are stored in a local database on your device.

Journal and settings

Mood check-ins, context tags, notes and the heart readings captured with them are stored in a local database on your device. Your chosen character pack, alert preferences and baseline settings are stored in a shared container that only TensionRadar, its widget and its Apple Watch app can read. Deleting the app removes all of this data.

Widgets and Apple Watch

The Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, the Apple Watch complications and the Apple Watch app display a small local snapshot of your latest stress band, HRV, heart rate and resting heart rate from that shared container. Widgets can show this information while the device is locked; Apple’s widget privacy settings control that.

Notifications

Morning summaries and “tension rising” alerts are scheduled locally on your device from your own readings. Notification text can include your HRV value and stress band. TensionRadar does not use a push-notification server. You control permission and Lock Screen previews in system settings, and you can turn each alert type off in TensionRadar’s settings.

In-app purchase

The optional Character Pack is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment under its own terms; TensionRadar only learns from StoreKit whether the pack is unlocked, and stores that on your device and in the shared container its widget and watch app read. The developer never receives your payment details or Apple Account information.

Advertising, analytics and diagnostics

TensionRadar includes no advertising, no third-party analytics and no cross-app tracking. It makes no network requests of its own. Apple may provide crash reports and TestFlight feedback under its terms and your Apple settings.

Not a medical device

TensionRadar is a wellness tool for noticing patterns in your heart-rate variability. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. Consult a healthcare professional about persistent symptoms.

Contact and changes

If you email support, the developer and the email providers involved receive whatever you choose to send. It is used only to respond to you. If TensionRadar changes how it handles information, this page will be updated with a new effective date.
