HHKB Sky Blue Full Key Top Set — Stamped
I bought these knowing full well they were unnecessary. That was part of the appeal. I use an HHKB every day, and changing the keycaps does more for the feeling of my desk than most so-called productivity upgrades ever do.
This is the Sky Blue Full Key Top Set in the stamped variant from HHKB. HHKB calls it a limited single run, which makes it feel even more like the kind of purchase I try not to over-justify. It is not sensible. I just liked it.
My HHKB is one of the few objects on my desk that I never really stop touching. Because of that, even a cosmetic change lands harder than it should. Swapping to this set changed the whole mood of the keyboard for me. The board usually feels a bit severe and utilitarian. This color makes it feel lighter, softer, and honestly more fun.
I picked stamped legends on purpose. Blank caps look cool for about five minutes, then they start feeling like a performance. I actually use this keyboard. I want it to look distinctive without pretending I am above needing legends.
Why I wanted it
- I already love the HHKB, so this lets me change the vibe without changing the board.
- The sky blue color feels playful without becoming loud or tacky.
- Stamped legends keep it usable and honest.
Tradeoff
This solves no real problem. It will not make me type faster, think better, or write cleaner code. It is just one of those rare desk purchases where I know I will enjoy seeing it every day, and sometimes that is enough.
