Keeps is on the App Store

Keeps 1.0.0 is now available on the App Store for iPhone and iPad.

Keeps gives the things you own a place to keep their history: a photo, the original purchase price and currency, a purchase date, and the occasions when you use them. Cost per day updates with time. Cost per use follows your logged uses, or an optional usage-frequency estimate. When something is sold, its sale proceeds become part of the ownership cost.

You can start with a few everyday belongings, import purchases for review, or explore the separate demo collection. Optional private iCloud sync and photo-inclusive backups help you keep the records. There is no Keeps account, advertising, or third-party analytics.

Native Mac 1.1.0 has also been submitted for App Review as its first App Store release, with the updated editor, editable AI suggestions, emoji category filters, and warranty reminders. Mac availability is pending approval. The widgets described below are for iPhone and iPad. The current public release is for iPhone and iPad, on iOS or iPadOS 18 and later.

Coming in 1.1.0

The iPhone and iPad update has been submitted for App Review. It includes three widget experiences:

• Overview: the number of items you own and their recorded purchase cost, with a tap through to Overview.
• Item: choose a belonging and see its photo, cost per day, and cost per use, with a tap through to its details.
• Item Suggestion: choose Automatic, Least Used, Best Value, or Most Expensive. Automatic considers ownership age, logged use, and price, then rotates among useful insights from your collection.

You can add Item Suggestion more than once to keep several perspectives visible. All three will offer Home Screen and Lock Screen layouts. Cost estimates and missing currency conversions will stay visible as such, following the same rules as the app. Widgets are upcoming; they are not included in the 1.0.0 App Store release.

Also included in the upcoming update

Feedback from the first release is shaping the item editor. You will be able to change an AI-suggested name, category, and tags before applying them, with better category handling for phone accessories. Naming is also being improved so an accessory keeps its identity: a charging dock for Kindle should remain a charging dock, with the Kindle model shown as compatibility information. Cost-per-use estimates will become an explicit optional setting, and warranty dates will have a dedicated section.

The upcoming update also includes optional local warranty reminders. They will be configured per device, with clear notification-permission status and automatic updates when saved warranty details change. The latest test build fixes a crash when opening a notification and improves foreground test delivery. Timing now offers 1 day, 1 week, 30 days, or a custom number of days before expiry, with a chosen time of day. The next scheduled reminder is visible in Settings. The setup test appears after five seconds; real warranty reminders open the relevant item. Collection on iPad is also being updated to keep its title fixed in the toolbar during scrolling and rotation. A category-filter fix will also keep emoji icons visible beside category names. These improvements are not yet part of the public 1.0.0 release.

One purchase, with iCloud sync included

Keeps remains a one-time US$0.99 app purchase, with regional pricing. iCloud collection sync is included, with no subscription or in-app purchase. This remains the same in 1.1.0. Sync uses your own private iCloud storage.

Feedback will replace Share diagnostics and open your default email app directly with a short template. The draft will include the hardware model, OS version, and Keeps version/build, all editable before sending. It will not attach a log or automatically include item names or collection data. The old plaintext log will also be removed.
